DEFINITIONS
Explain the names used as they are very confusing.
Terms such as scooters, bikes and mopeds are often used interchangeably and as a good example, the iconic Vespa is often called a scooter or motor scooter where it probably should be called a moped. However, we will classify our Personal Electric Vehicles (PEV’s) as –
Scooter: A form of transportation where one foot can be used for propulsion.
Bicycle: A form of transportation where peddles can be used for propulsion.
Moped: A form of transportation where the rider sits vertically.
That being said, we still use the generic term ‘scooter” to mean either a scooter, bicycle or moped on our website.

USAGE & OPERATION
Is it safe for my children to use these items?
Children should be closely monitored and supervised by an adult at all times. Riders should always wear protective gear such as a helmet while riding and perhaps knee and elbow pads as well.
Is it legal to ride electric scooters in my area?
Please contact your local law enforcement for regulations in your area about riding your Electric Scooters and Bicycles on the road. Download a summary of Federal Electric Bicycle Regulation HR 727.
How many people can ride a scooter?
We strongly recommend that only one person ride at a time for your own safety, however some of the larger models (Mopeds) can easily accommodate 2 riders.
How fast will it go?
All our scooters are surprisingly quick, but have varying speeds depending on size. The slowest could be at just 10 miles per hour, while others can go for as fast at 55 miles per hour or more, enough for comfortable commuting or to be included in racing events.
How do I care for my electric scooter, bike or moped?
As with any vehicle, your scooter should be garaged or at least stored out of the weather and it should be cleaned down regularly when dirty.
Does peddling a bicycle charge its batteries?
Peddling will increase the maximum speed, increase the distance on a single charge and allow you to get home if the batteries run flat. However, it does not charge the batteries.
Do the batteries have to be removed to charge them?
The batteries do not have to be removed for charging. Just plug the charger (supplied) into the socket provided on the scooter and then connect it to the normal 120 VAC mains socket.
How long does it take to charge the batteries?
All scooters are supplied with a smart charger which means that the batteries will be fully charged in around 2-3 hours and then trickle charged after that. (It is recommended that the initial charge for a new battery be 6 hours.)
Can the batteries be overcharged?
No. Using the smart charger supplied, the batteries can be left on charge indefinitely.
Are parts hard to come by?
No, every part can be readily obtained and most can be shipped the following day. Our supplier usually has all the parts in stock for current models as well as superseded models.

Why are electric scooters so popular and why do people use them?
Electric scooters glide on the road, so the feeling of literally cruising the block is there. It's great when you need to do quick errands and short trips to the grocery store and because it's a fairly new vehicle, it is also a good way to meet new people, as it makes a very interesting conversation piece. Problems with traffic are a thing of the past as scooters can easily manoeuvre through any tight jam. Never again will you be late for an appointment. Also, you can also say goodbye to having to worry about gas bills. It’s the cleaner, smarter way to travel!!!
Are electric scooters really good for the environment?
Your global footprint is markedly reduced and you are not contributing to global warming with exhaust fumes. Your gas bills will be a thing of the past, and even the batteries, which will last for years, are recyclable. Noise... well, what noise? Run silent, run cheap!!!
What are the other advantages of electric scooters?
Some models of Electric scooters are so compact that you are allowed to bring them on public transport such as planes, buses and trains. Gas-powered scooters do not have this privilege. Although many people buy an electric scooter as "toy", it is a lot more functional than it's first perceived.
How much will it cost to run my scooter?
It all depends on how fast you travel and which model you use, but as a guide, it will probably cost you less than 10cents per charge which will give a range of 20+ miles.
Are the scooters from The BestElectricScooters really as fun as they look?
No! They are a LOT more fun!!!
