LOOKING AT DEFINITIONS
Firstly, we'll look at the definitions of our vehicles. You can basically say that if you can use one foot to propel the vehicle, it's a Scooter (if that's true, then Fred Flintstone ran around in a 4-wheeled scooter!) while the definition of a Bicycle is that it has two wheels in tandem and has pedals. The definition of a Moped is that it is a motorised Bicycle with peddles.
These definitions are not set in concrete and we use the generic term "Scooter" for almost everything on our site – sorry! And we are really going to confuse you further with our category definitions. If it's based on a Scooter and it looks like a Scooter, then it's a Scooter. If it's got pedals, then it’s a Bicycle and if it's a bigger model without pedals and looking more like a motorbike, then we are going to call it a Moped.
To finish off, electric toys for your children are called Ride Ons, 4 wheeled bikes are called Quad Bikes or ATV's, miniature motor bikes are called Pocket Bikes or Mini Bikes and Sea Scooters are those devices you use in the water, usually when diving.
After all that, are you still confused? We hope not.
Now what we will do is look at your particular requirement and hopefully point you in the right direction to select the best scooter for youself.
